By no means a perfect president, especially in some foreign policies, but Carter was impressive – especially in his post-presidential activities. There is no other former president who would receive plaudits like he has.

In case they skip over it in the obituaries, Jimmy Carter was the first and so far only US president to name the oppression of Palestinians as apartheid. He even wrote a whole book about it. bookshop.org/p/books/pale…
