Important issues emerge here, which I will explore in my next book. What is the legitimacy of a robot’s adhan/salah? Actually, that was one of my first questions when I started work on this area back in the 90s! It locks into ijtihad concerns, which I have discussed in my books. While it might seem trivial on one level, there are profound implications associated with the increasing integration of AI, robotics, and technology within Islamic and Muslim practices.
