This was a good piece in the Verge, providing a rationale for data preservation in general and archiving in particular. It was pertinent to me as archiving is central to my ongoing projects.
This is why archives are central to my current research (albeit on a micro-snapshot of online activities in a finite period). I’ll be quoting this article (if it’s still there) in the future.
