Back in July, I participated in a fascinating conference and masterclass organised by Project 0100/Bart Barendregt (Leiden University). It was titled ‘The Future of Artificial Intelligence in/and of Islam: A View from Muslim Southeast Asia‘ and held at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia – UIII.
Bhirawa Anoraga has written a comprehensive review of the event for the Journal of Islamic and Muslim Studies (login needed). It provides analysis and an overview of current issues associated with the study of AI in Islamic contexts, including methodological challenges.
