This is the thirteenth month since the current Israel-Hamas conflict commenced. I have been keeping copies of selected online content since 7 October 2023.
Many of these posts feature on my X page (@garybunt), and are usually posted there first, along with related materials and extra links (there’s often a time lag between posting on X and posting here!). The intention here is to keep a snapshot record of these posts (X posts disappear from time to time) and other content. I’m planning to write about these sources in due course.
There are thousands of potential posts, so this is only a snapshot of activities. Warning: many posts contain images of violence and injuries.
Sequencing is date-related. The pages (from various months) link back to the earliest days of this crisis. Scrolling and loading the page can take some time (depending on net access/bandwidth).
“The men look abject, fearful and exhausted. The little girl, who was noticed in the picture by a BBC producer, is looking away. Maybe something out of sight of the camera has caught her attention. Or maybe she just doesn’t want to look at the soldiers and their guns.”
Long read (recommended) on a pivotal journalistic figure from the Palestine crises:
“After his wife and two of his children were killed in Gaza, Al Jazeera journalist Wael al-Dahdouh became famous around the world for his decision to keep reporting. But this was just the start of his heartbreaking journey.”
Ido David Cohen, Haaretz/Apple News, On Israeli TV, extremism reigns and the Gaza horror is completely screened out, 22 Oct 2024 “As the war in Gaza and Lebanon rages, Israel’s news broadcasters go morally bankrupt: Palestinian victims and the destruction in Gaza are nonexistent, Arab commentators are excluded, and the army spokesperson has almost absolute control over the coverage.” Opinion. A paywalled article with detailed analysis.
Al Jazeera, Israel investigating whether Hamas’s Sinwar killed in Gaza attack, 17 Oct 2024. “Israel’s army says it is investigating whether Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been killed in an attack in Gaza. There has been no official confirmation from Israeli authorities or Hamas.”

“Entisar Hijazi was arrested for uploading a TikTok video dancing on 7 October, which Israeli minister Ben Gvir alleged with celebrating the attacks.”
